Easy Mozzarella Stuffed Meatballs

Materials

Base Recipe

  • 1 ½ Pounds Ground Meat Lean (Beef, Turkey, or Chicken work great!)
  • 2 Large Whole Eggs
  • ¾ Cup Bread Crumbs Low Sodium Preferred
  • ½ Cup Parmesan Cheese Grated
  • 1 Tablespoon Italian Seasoning
  • ½ Teaspoon Black Pepper
  • ¼ Teaspoon Salt
  • ½ Cup Mozzarella Cheese Sticks, Block, or Pearls
  • 1 Jar Pasta Sauce Only needed if you're making these in your Slow Cooker

Optional Ingredients

  • 1 Teaspoon Onion Powder
  • 1 ½ Teaspoons Minced Garlic or Garlic Powder
  • Onion Chopped or Other Vegetable(s) for texture
  • Hot Sauce Crushed Red Pepper or Other Seasoning for some added heat!

Instructions

  • Mix all of your ingredients together aside from your Pasta Sauce and Mozzarella in a large mixing bowl
  • Take some of your mix and roll it out into a ball
  • Press your thumb into the middle of it making a space large enough to place a piece of your Mozzarella Cheese
  • Put your piece of Mozzarella Stick, piece of Mozzarella Block, or Mozzarella Pearl inside that spot
  • Enclose it around your Mozzarella Cheese and roll it out into its final meatball form
  • Repeat until your mix is gone

Slow Cooker Method

  • Place your rolled meatballs into the bottom of your Slow Cooker
  • Pour over and evenly distribute your Pasta Sauce
  • Let them cook on High Heat for 2 1/2-3 hours or Low Heat for 5-6 hours depending on the size of your meatballs (they should reach 165F/73C internally)

Air Fryer Method

  • Place your rolled meatballs onto an air fryer sheet
  • Let them cook on 400F/204C for 11-14 minutes depending on the size of your meatballs making sure to flip them halfway through cooking
  • Remove them once they reach 165F/73C

Oven Method

  • Place your rolled meatballs onto a baking sheet
  • Let them cook on 400F/204C for 20-25 minutes depending on the size of your meatballs making sure to flip them halfway through cooking
  • Remove them once they reach 165F/73C
