Easy High Protein Ninja Creami Recipes

We’re in peak summer or maybe you’re reading this as a year-round ice cream connoisseur like myself. Either way, it’s only right we break out our favorite summer appliance for another round of Easy High Protein Ninja Creami recipes. This time, we’ve got multiple recipes all made with simple ingredients!

Speaking of ice cream and before we dive into our ingredients, what’s the best flavor ice cream you’ve ever had? Drop it below in the comments!

We’ll start this post by shamelessly promoting the Ninja Creami. If you don’t have one of these, I think it’s safe to say that it’s one of the best diet investments you can make if you like ice cream. I’m still using the first generation and have probably made over 1,000 pints with it! If a store bought protein pint of ice cream is around $5.00 on average and it only costs me $1.00 to make it, the Creami has technically saved me $4,000 while giving me endless variety. If you want to check it out, I’ll link it below. And no, this isn’t a sponsored post!

Creami Pineapple Ice Cream

For our first recipe, we’re going with a high protein pineapple ice cream. It’s sweet, tangy, and perfect for when you want something tropical that still fits your macros!

Add right into your Creami container, 4 ounces of milk, 8 ounces of pineapple juice which I use straight from the can (look for no sugar added!), 1 scoop of a vanilla protein powder, and 1-2 tablespoons of a vanilla sugar free instant pudding which we’ll talk more about in a second.

Give those ingredients a quick mix until smooth.

Finish by adding in 4 pineapple rings or whatever brings you up to the max fill line. Press them down, cover it, and put that into the freezer overnight. See below to find out what mix-ins I used for this one!

You can optionally use less milk and more pineapple juice here for more of a sorbet.

If this one (it shouldn’t with the fruit content!) or any of your pints are lacking “sweetness“, you can add in 1-2 tablespoons of a sweetener. The sweetness of your pints will mainly be dependent on how sweet your protein powder and Greek yogurt are.

Want multiple pints or using a different container size? You can easily scale any of these high protein Ninja Creami recipes using the recipe card at the bottom.

Creami Coconut Ice Cream

For our next recipe, high protein coconut ice cream! Coconut’s natural richness makes this one taste like a high fat gelato while keeping the protein high and the calories in check. It’s also a great “base” for your Creami recipes if you like to get creative!

Start by opening a can of lite coconut milk or cream, make sure it’s canned (more flavor/richness). Add in 10 ounces of that into your Creami container followed by 1 scoop of a vanilla protein powder, 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract, 4 ounces of a coconut flavored Greek yogurt, and an optional 1/4 teaspoon of xanthan or guar gum which will both help at preventing ice crystals.

Give everything a mix. I usually use a cheap handheld mixer/frother which I’ll link to below but sometimes I just throw everything in a shaker. Throw your lid on and put that into the freezer! See below to find out what mix-ins I used for this one.

The difference between xanthan and guar gum? Xanthan provides firmer texture that is dense and scoopable. Guar provides a soft, gooey texture and is a bit better at preventing ice crystals. You can use both together however I typically prefer xanthan gum.

Creami Birthday Cake Ice Cream

Are you ready for the third recipe and one of my favorites? High protein birthday cake ice cream (or cake batter)! Creamy vanilla base, birthday flavor, and a confetti of sprinkles AND cake texture in every bite.

Add into your Creami container, 12 ounces of milk, 1 teaspoon of cake batter extract, 2 ounces of cream cheese that you’ll want to throw in the microwave for :30 seconds or until melted, 1-2 tablespoons of a cheesecake sugar free instant pudding, and 1 scoop of a vanilla protein powder.

Mix those together thoroughly, put your lid on, and stick it into the freezer. See below to find out what mix-ins I used for this one!

Yes, I know needing cake batter extract is annoying but it’ll give you the best flavor and last a LONG time. You can buy an extract for around 5-10 dollars, I’ll put the one I use below with everything else.

Creami Frosted Lemonade Ice Cream

For our last recipe, think frosted fast food chicken restaurant. If you’ve ever had their famous “lemonade“, you know exactly why it has a cult following! Sweet, tart, and impossibly creamy all at once. This high protein frosted lemonade variation tastes just like the original with a fraction of the macros. The best part? We’re making it multiple ways!

The first way? By adding into your Creami container, 8 ounces of a sugar free lemonade, 4 ounces of a lemon Greek yogurt, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, 1 scoop of a vanilla protein powder, and 1-2 tablespoons of a lemon sugar free instant pudding.

The second way? Add in 10 ounces of milk, 4 ounces of a lemon Greek yogurt, 1 scoop of a vanilla protein powder, some sugar free pink or regular lemonade mix (I either go half a big packet or 2 small packets), and a little optional lemon zest. You’ll notice I didn’t use an instant pudding or xanthan or guar gum here. If you want it “creamier“, you can introduce either of these.

Regardless of the method you chose, you should mix until smooth. Hit it with your lid and pop it into the freezer. See below to find out what mix-ins I used for this one and all of the other Creami recipes listed above.

Protein Ice Cream

Your pint is frozen and it’s time to make it! You’ll start by taking it out of the freezer and letting it thaw for around 10 minutes. If you can’t wait that long (me), simply hit the sides with some hot water.

Put your container in the Ninja Creami and push the lite ice cream button. After this first run, it likely won’t resemble ice cream. If that’s the case, pour in 1-2 ounces of a complementing liquid for whatever flavor you made. More milk, coconut cream, lemonade, whatever works, and hit the re-spin button.

Last, and the most important step of the entire process if you like textures in your ice cream? Make a spot in the middle of your pint and add in your choice mix-ins! Here’s what I used for all the flavors we made today:

  • Pineapple Ice Cream? Chocolate chips and graham cracker crumbs.
  • Coconut Ice Cream? Crushed up chocolate and toasted coconut flakes!
  • Birthday Cake Ice Cream? Sprinkles and a couple birthday cake flavored mini muffins or any sort of cake texture.
  • Frosted Lemonade Ice Cream? Fresh fruit, a couple shortbread cookies, or white chocolate chips!

Once you’ve made your choice, if any at all, hit the mix-in button.

Think outside the box here with your mix-ins. As someone who loves as many textures as possible in my ice cream, there’s almost nothing I haven’t tried. Some of my other favorites?

Ninja Creami Mix-Ins

  • Mini peanut butter cups
  • Sugar free wafers
  • Oreo thins
  • Mint chips
  • Brittle
  • Pretzels
  • Mini marshmallows
  • Nuts
  • Cereal

A couple more tips to make the best high protein Ninja Creami recipes ever!

  1. If you don’t have access to instant pudding mixes, you can simply use 1/4 teaspoon of xanthan or guar gum. If you don’t have access to (or don’t like) xanthan or guar gum, you can use an instant pudding mix.
  2. Add a pinch of salt to any flavor to enhance your flavors!
  3. Don’t be scared to mix and match the flavors in your recipe to change them up. Protein powder, instant puddings, Greek yogurt, and so on.
