Air Fryer Dessert Pinwheels

10 Pinwheels60 cals

We’re back with our air fryer and today we’re going to make a super easy air fryer dessert! You only need 6 ingredients and 10 minutes or less to make these delicious Air Fryer Dessert Pinwheels. Packed with diet friendly macros and great for meal prep.

Add into a small mixing bowl 4 ounces of cream cheese, 1 scoop of your choice flavor protein powder, 1 tablespoon of sweetener if your protein powder isn’t sweet enough, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract.

Mix those ingredients together until smooth.

Remember to choose a flavor of protein powder that you think would pair well with the other ingredients in the recipe. Vanilla (my preference), chocolate, cinnamon bun, salted caramel, and so on all work great!

From here, take out a large tortilla or a couple small ones. I usually use 2 6” flour tortillas. This is also where you could easily change up the macros in the recipe with low carb or high protein tortillas!

Add some (if you’re using small ones) or all of your mix onto your tortilla and evenly distribute it.

Follow that first layer with 1-2 tablespoons of peanut butter per small tortilla or 3-4 tablespoons in a large one.

You could alternatively use powdered peanut butter mixed with a little water until your desired creaminess to cutdown on the fat and calories in the recipe. I’ll put both nutritional breakdowns below in the recipe card.

For your last layer? Top it sugar free chocolate chips.

Don’t forget that you can easily change up your toppings! Other nut butters, ground cinnamon, cocoa powder, white chocolate, and so on. Think outside the box for endless variations.

Speaking of peanut butter, are you a creamy or crunchy person? Let us know in the comments below! I usually go crunchy for the texture.

Go ahead now and roll your tortilla(s) up.

Air Fryer Pinwheels

Coat your rolled up tortillas with a little melted butter or cooking spray and cut them up into your protein dessert pinwheels. I cut mine every inch or so which with a 6” tortilla would give me 6 pieces.

Put them onto some optional parchment paper and straight into the air fryer on 375F/190C for around 6 minutes. Keep in mind that they may take more or less time depending on the air fryer you’re using.

A couple tips for these protein dessert pinwheels?

  1. They taste great cold so be afraid to make a bunch at a time.
  2. Dip them in Greek yogurt or one of our Protein Frosting recipes for even better macros!
