PROTEIN Cornbread Recipe (Low Fat, High Protein)

A healthy cornbread is a good cornbread…now a healthy, great tasting cornbread that’s high in protein? That’s a food miracle! This protein cornbread will have your taste buds craving more!

Here is the recipe:

  • 1/4 Cup Fat Free Milk (or milk substitute)
  • 10-15 Drops Liquid Sweetener
  • 1 Large Egg
  • 1/4 Cup Unsweetened Apple Sauce (61g)
  • 1 Cup (8 ounces) Plain Fat Free Greek Yogurt
  • 1 Tablespoon Pure Honey (21g)
  • 1/4 Cup Rolled Oats turned into Oat Flour (20g)
  • 3/4 Cup Cornmeal (99g)
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Salt
  • 1 Scoop Protein Powder (30g) (Natural or Vanilla)
  • 2 Teaspoons Baking Powder
  • 1/4 Teaspoon Baking Soda

Calories in the WHOLE recipe:

  • Calories: 818
  • Fat: 10g
  • Saturated Fat: 2g
  • Sodium: 375mg
  • Carbs: 120g
  • Fiber: 18g
  • Sugar: 33g
  • Protein: 62g

Mix all of the ingredients together in one bowl. Spray a 9×7 or 8×8 baking dish with non-stick cooking spray. Pour mix into baking dish. Cook on 425 for 15:00-20:00 or until it looks like it’s done (do the toothpick test).

  • Tip: Use some vanilla extract in your recipe if using natural flavored protein powder
