With how hot it’s been lately I think it’s time we make another drink. That drink? A healthier and high Protein Pina Colada that’ll get you right (after the gym!) without the alcohol AND hangover! You only need a blender, and a couple of ingredients.
Can you guess what you’re going to start this one with? Your blender! If you don’t have a good blender, I think I’ve been using my Vitamix one for 5+ years now and it still looks and functions as new. I’m usually pretty frugal but buy it nice or buy it twice might ring true for this appliance. I’ll link to it in the recipe card below if you want to check it out!
Question of the day! How many of you drink alcohol and how often? If you stopped drinking, why? Let me know in the comments below!

Add right into your blender, 1 cup of a canned light coconut milk, 4 ounces of a coconut flavored Greek yogurt, 2 ounces of a light pineapple juice, 1 1/2 scoops of an unflavored or vanilla protein powder, 1 cup of frozen pineapple chunks, and some ice cubes to guarantee thickness!
Blend everything together until smooth. If it’s not thick enough or you don’t have frozen pineapple, add a little more ice or a 1/4-1/2 teaspoon of xanthan gum at a time until you reach your desired consistency.

You can additionally make your own light coconut milk or pineapple juice by simply diluting your full fat coconut milk or regular pineapple juice with water using a 1:1 ratio (or larger). Here’s the full breakdown on how to do this:
Homemade Light Coconut Milk
- 1:1 Ratio (Most creamy): 1 Cup (236ml) Full Fat Canned Coconut Milk + 1 Cup (236ml) Cold Water
- 1:2 Ratio (Lighter on calories): 1 Cup (236ml) Full Fat Canned Coconut Milk + 2 Cups (473ml) Cold Water
- 1:3 Ratio (Best only for drinks and macros): 1 Cup (236ml) Full Fat Canned Coconut Milk + 3 Cups (709ml) Cold Water
Shake the can before opening it then combine both together. Keep in a sealed jar in the fridge for up to 5 days.

Homemade Light Pineapple Juice
- 1 Cup (236ml) Pineapple Juice
- 1 Cup (236ml) Cold Water
Stir both together until fully combined. Use or store for up to 4 days.
Pro tip? If you want this protein pina colada more pineapple forward, you could use a pineapple flavored Greek yogurt. Mix and match here with your Greek yogurt and protein powder flavors to try multiple variations until you find your favorite.

Once it’s done blending, pour it into your favorite protein pina colada glass or shaker and great ready to beat those cravings!
