Chocolate or vanilla? The choice is yours with this Chocolate or Vanilla Protein Cupcakes recipe made using protein powder! You only need a few ingredients to make these healthy cupcakes, they’re super easy to make, and absolutely delicious!

Start this one by making some oat flour. If you already have oat flour, move to the next step.

How To Make Oat Flour

To make your homemade oat flour you’ll need 1 cup of rolled oats and either a good blender or food processor. I prefer using a food processor.

Add your rolled oats into whatever you’re using and blend or process until they look like flour. Easy, right?

Vanille Protein Cupcakes

To make this recipe as simple as possible you can add all of these ingredients right into your blender or food processor.

The ingredients you’ll need? Your oat flour that’s already in there, 1/2 cup of almond flour, 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar, 1 cup of unsweetened apple sauce, 2 of vanilla or chocolate protein powder, 2 tablespoons of brown rice syrup, 4 large egg whites, 1/4 teaspoon of salt, 2 teaspoon of baking powder, and 1/4 cup of unsweetened milk substitute.

Hand mixing is also completely fine if you don’t have or don’t want to use a food processor or blender.

Another thing to keep in mind is the choice flavor you use for your protein powder. This flavor should compliment the flavor cupcakes you’re going for. Vanilla for vanilla cupcakes, chocolate for chocolate cupcakes…you get the idea.

Process, blend, or mix everything together until smooth.

Next, take out a baking sheet, muffin pan, or anything oven safe that you can put some silicone cups onto.

Line those cups up and evenly distribute your cupcake mix into your silicone cups. I needed 14 of them today.

Chocolate Protein Cupcakes

All you have to do to make your cupcakes chocolate is mix in 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder into your protein cupcake mix.

As I mentioned before, complimenting them with a chocolate flavored protein powder would make these even better.

You could also make a “twist” by adding both vanilla and chocolate mix into the same silicone cup.

Last, top them with whatever you want and put your protein cupcakes into the oven on 350F/176C for around 20-25 minutes.

You’ll know they’re done once they rise.

Protein Cupcakes Frosting

For a quick and healthy cupcake frosting, add 1 container of a flavored Greek yogurt, 1 scoop of protein powder, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract into a bowl.

Mix those together until smooth.

Using a dessert decorator or homemade piping bag (cut a corner off a plastic bag), top your protein cupcakes with your protein frosting.

You can use whatever flavors you want here. I went with vanilla today then topped them with some sugar free chocolate chips and cocoa powder!
