High protein cake in a jar. Do I need to say more? These Protein Apple Crisp Cake Jars are delicious, easy to make, travel friendly, packed with seasonal flavor, and take no time at all to make! If you’ve been looking for a new healthy dessert recipe to try, this is the one!

Start this recipe with a bowl that’s big enough to fit all of your ingredients and some mason jars. You want at least half pint mason jars like these.

Add into your bowl 1 large whole egg, 2 large egg whites, 6 tablespoons of coconut flour, 1 scoop of a vanilla protein powder, 1/8 cup of almond flour, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, 2 teaspoons of light brown sugar, 1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon, 1/4 cup of unsweetened apple sauce, and 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder.

Pro tip? You can easily change up the flavor of your protein apple crisp cake jars! Use other protein powder flavors like chocolate or salted caramel.

Homemade Unsweetened Apple Sauce

Don’t have access to unsweetened apple sauce? Make your own by cooking 1 1/2 pounds of peeled & chopped apples, 1/4 cup of water, and 1/4 teaspoon of ground cinnamon over medium heat in a pan until tender (15-20 minutes). Once tender you can mash, blend, or process until it looks like apple sauce!

Mix all of your ingredients together until smooth. This should take around 30 seconds with a hand mixer or 1-2 minutes with a mixing spoon.

Lightly mix in 1/2 chopped apple.

Take out your mason jars, coat them with some non-stick cooking spray, and evenly distribute your mix into them. If you only want 1 protein apple crisp cake, use a bigger mason jar!

Top them with whatever you want (I used a couple apple slices) and put them in the oven on 350F/176C for around 25-30 minutes.

You take these up a level by eating them with some seasonal Greek yogurt flavors, protein frosting, sugar free caramel syrup, and so on! Let me know your favorite way to eat these protein apple crisp cake jars in the comments below.
