Looking for a healthier alternative to strawberry shortcake? Try a Protein Strawberry Shortshake! This healthy shake recipe is super filling, packed with shortcake flavor, and high in protein!
For this recipe you’re going to need a blender in order to get your oats, frozen fruit, and ice smooth. If you don’t have a good blender, here’s a link to the one I’ve been using lately.
All you need to do is add right into your blender 3/4 cup of unsweetened milk substitute, 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract, 1 container of a strawberry Greek yogurt, 1/4 cup of rolled oats, 1 scoop of a vanilla protein powder, 1 cup of fresh or frozen strawberries, 4 reduced fat wafers, and 1/2 cup of ice.
Pro tip? If you’re using frozen strawberries you can use less or no ice at all. Using less ice will enhance your strawberry flavor even more!
Blend all of those protein strawberry shortshake ingredients together until smooth.
Pour your protein shake into your favorite glass and optionally top it. I went with some whipped cream and wafer crumbs today. Let us know what you top your shake with in the comments below!
