Start every morning with a high protein breakfast that comes with a boost! This Iced Coffee Protein Shake is not just absolutely delicious but also takes no time at all to make with simple ingredients and comes with unlimited variations!
If you like coffee I can almost guarantee you’ll never want to drink iced coffee any other way once you try this high protein coffee recipe.
The first thing you need to do for this one is to make your coffee. I usually make mine the night before or already have some of my Cold Brew prepared. Speaking of coffee, what is your favorite brew method? Let us know in the comments below!
Add right into your shaker however much coffee you want (around a cup for me), 1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon, 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder, 1 scoop of a chocolate or vanilla protein powder, 1/2 cup of unsweetened milk substitute, and 1/2 cup of coffee ice cubes.
Want to switch up the flavor? Use a protein powder flavor that compliments your coffee roast.
Coffee Ice Cubes
You can make coffee ice cubes by simply freezing some of your coffee in an ice cube tray. Using these ice cubes will help prevent your coffee from ever being watered down.
Pro tip? Add some flavor extracts to your coffee ice cubes!
Give your iced coffee protein shake ingredients a quick shake to mix everything together.
Did you know that cocoa powder is a great cheap source of fiber with 2 grams for every 10 calories?
Pour your iced coffee protein shake into your favorite coffee glass, grab a straw to prevent coffee stains on the teeth (life tip!), and optionally top it. I like to top mine with a little ground cinnamon and cocoa powder.
