Cottage Cheese Buffalo Chicken Dip

Our new favorite quick cottage cheese recipe is here! That recipe? We’re making a super easy, low carb, and high protein Cottage Cheese Buffalo Chicken Dip that takes less than 5 minutes to make with 5 simple ingredients.

Start this one with either a food processor or powerful blender. A food processor will likely be your best option here as this mix is fairly “thick”.

Add right into 1 1/2 cups of cottage cheese, 3 ounces of a low sodium buffalo sauce, and 1 1/2 tablespoons of a ranch seasoning mix.

If you don’t have access to a ranch seasoning mix?

Homemade Ranch Seasoning Mix

  • Buttermilk Powder 1 Tablespoon
  • Parsley 1/2 Tablespoon
  • Onion Powder 1 Teaspoon
  • Dill Weed 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Chives 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Garlic Powder 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Black Pepper 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Salt 1/4 Teaspoon

Moving on, process or blend those ingredients together until smooth.

Continue by adding in 1/2 cup of a cheddar cheese or other cheese of your choice and 10 ounces of a cooked chicken. I like using either some shredded up rotisserie or canned. Yes, canned chicken works great for this one and it’s cheap!

If you’re using another cheese, make sure it compliments the buffalo flavor!

Mix everything together. I do this right in my food processor to save some cleanup time (don’t hit the blade!).

From here, choose how you’d like to prepare it and take out either microwave or baking safe dish.

Microwave Buffalo Dip

If you’re making this in the microwave all you need to do is to pour your mix into your microwave safe dish and microwave it for around :45 seconds. Keep in mind that it may take more or less time depending on how powerful your microwave is.

Mix everything around and repeat until your cottage cheese buffalo chicken dip is hot enough for you.

Oven Buffalo Dip

If you’re making this in the oven you’ll want to start by coating your oven safe dish with some non-stick cooking spray prior to pouring your mix in. Make sure you level off the top (the back of a spoon works great for this).

You can optionally top it with a little more shredded cheddar or other complimenting cheese for aesthetics before the oven.

Bake your cottage cheese buffalo chicken dip on 350F/176C for around 30-35 minutes. You’ll know it’s done when your edges start to brown.

Air Fryer Buffalo Dip

The air fryer works great too! Closely the same as the steps for the oven process. Take out and coat an air fryer safe dish or pan with non-stick cooking spray then pour your mix in.

Optionally top it with some shredded cheese and cover it with foil.

Air fry it for around 15 minutes at 325F/162C before removing the foil and letting it air fry for an additional 3-5 minutes or until you see some browning.

There is your delicious cottage cheese buffalo chicken dip! You can eat this with chips, fresh vegetables, on a sandwich, in a wrap, with rice or quinoa, and so on. It’s a great way to get some quick protein in.

  2. It reheats great everywhere. If you’re reheating it in the microwave make sure to do it in intervals of :30 seconds. Mix and repeat.

  4. Don’t like the texture of chicken? Blend it up with your cottage cheese for a smoother dip.
