Are you looking for a healthier alternative to high sugar frosting? Look no further! These 3 Quick Healthy Protein Frosting Recipes are super easy to make with just a few ingredients, absolutely delicious, low calorie, low sugar, and PACKED with protein!
Cream Cheese Protein Frosting
This first quick and protein packed frosting is delicious! It’s great for cakes (like our protein carrot cake), pancakes, muffins, and much more.
All you need to make it is a bowl big enough to mix all of your ingredients in and 4 ingredients that you probably already have.
Add into your bowl 4 ounces of cream cheese, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, 1 scoop of your choice flavor protein powder, and 6 tablespoons of a healthy whipped topping.
Use a flavor protein powder that compliments whatever you’re adding this cream cheese protein frosting onto. Vanilla, chocolate, banana, strawberry, the choice is yours.
Mix everything together with a hand mixer until your cream cheese protein frosting forms. You’ll know it forms once it starts to thicken/fluff up, this should only take around a minute.
You can also mix it together without a hand mixer, it’ll just take a bit longer.
Throw this in the fridge for 20-30 minutes and it’ll thicken up even more. Alternatively, you can keep it in the fridge and use it as you need it.
Instant Pudding Protein Frosting
This next healthy frosting is a creation that comes from our protein pudding book! It’s great to eat as is, use as a dip, filling, or as a lighter topping on something like protein waffles.
All you need to make it is a bowl big enough to mix all of your ingredients in and 3 ingredients that are widely available almost everywhere!
Add into your bowl 1 scoop of your choice flavor protein powder, 1 serving of instant pudding, and 1 ounce of milk or milk substitute.
Pair your protein powder flavor with your instant pudding flavor for maximum satisfaction.
Mix those together until you reach your preferred consistency. It should thicken up as you mix it.
Want it even thicker? Add in a little xanthan gum or throw it in the fridge or freezer for a bit.
Greek Yogurt Protein Frosting
This last frosting is probably my most used one. I use this Greek yogurt frosting for pretty much everything including cupcakes, cheesecakes, mug cakes, and much more.
It also has both whey and casein in it from the cottage cheese which means it’ll keep you full longer!
Add into your bowl 1 container of your choice flavor Greek yogurt, 1 scoop of your choice flavor protein powder, and 1/4 cup of cottage cheese.
Mix everything together using a hand mixer or food processor until smooth.
The longer you process or mix it, the less it’ll have that “cottage cheese” look. If you don’t mind that look, you can just as easily mix everything together with a spoon.
You can also change the color of this frosting (or any of them) by using a couple drops of some food coloring. As you can see today, I went with yellow and paired it with a banana recipe.

I made the chocolate pudding frosting. I did add a tablespoon of sweetner to the mix, but this is the first protein frosting I have ever made that taste like Philsbury! It’s really good! Well done!!
I will try the second recipe with a twist. I will change the chocolate pudding to normal vanilla pudding and the chocolate protein powder to normal vanilla protein.
I will give my review… 🥊🥊✅
Hope you like it Adnan!
